The Mark Lipman Division: Investigative services and undercover agents

The organization has been in the investigative business since 1935, when the late Mark Lipman—father of President Ira A. Lipman—started the enterprise in Little Rock, Arkansas.

This division of Guardsmark specializes in corporate and industrial investigative activities. The Mark Lipman Division works both undercover and overtly to solve such business crimes as theft, embezzlement, sabotage and substance abuse.

Undercover agents
We provide agents to work as employees of the client company. Once "hired" and established as company personnel, our agents can develop inside information about such internal problems as theft, drug trafficking, and lack of productivity. Individuals are brought in from a city other than the client location to increase the success of the cover.

At the client’s option, an interrogation specialist can question any suspects in an attempt to gain written admissions, establishing bonding claims and/or prosecution.

External surveillance
The Mark Lipman Division can provide evidence of a given individual’s activity for the purpose of challenging questionable claims. External surveillance investigations can identify fraudulent claims for workers’ compensation or disability, among others.

Professional Personnel Screening® (PPS®)
The Mark Lipman Division of Guardsmark can provide you with thorough and intensive background screening of prospective employees. Through interviews with former employers and review of records, we evaluate aspects of your prospective employee’s ability, character, credit, education, employment history, and criminal records where available. Guardsmark investigators can also perform in-depth background investigations.

  Effective loss recovery
With employee thefts costing U.S. corporations an estimated $120 billion each year, pre-employment screening services are a sound investment for your company.

Employers can be held liable for employees who commit violent acts at work—especially if past history records were not checked.
